Gluten Free Apple Crisp
This is a classic dessert that is super easy to make. Sweet, comforting, and completely gluten free!

Filling
- 6 medium apples
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp vanilla
Topping
- 1 cup gluten free all purpose flour
- 1 ½ cup gluten free oats make sure they are labeled gluten free
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup butter softened
Make the Filling
Wash and cut the apples into thin slices. Peeling is optional, but recommended for a more consistent texture.
In the bowl of apples, add lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Mix around until the apples are fully and evenly coated.
Pour the apple mixture into a pie dish or 8 inch baking pan. Set aside while you prepare the topping.
Make the Topping
In one bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
Add the softened butter and finish mixing until evenly combined. It should be quite thick and able to be molded to the top of the apple dish.
Pour the topping on the apples and spread to cover the top completely.
Place in the oven and cook for 45-50 minutes. It will be done when the apples are bubbling and the topping is slightly browned.
Scoop and serve by itself or with your favorite toppings!
